A journey of self-reflection and self-understanding

Its one thing if you workout because you want to have a bigger bicep or thinner legs, but quit the other if you are only 14 and you already weight 230 pounds. I was the laziest one in the Academy, the corner guy in boy's locker room, and the "charm" or clown to be more accurate. 4 years passed, and it took a massive effort for such transformation. Luckily I borrowed no needles nor pills. Its all about planning and executing. Like many, I made excuses, countless of them: "its raining." "I am tired." "sleepy." "I will eat less." blah, blah, blah. But somehow I always tell myself something positive. "The gym is warm and dry." "I will enjoy a day of stretching." Whatever. But the goal is simply manipulate my mind to get my body in the gym. I have to say, its the will that matters.

At last I will offer some advices: 1) stay positive. Sometimes your weight may go up, but keep going don't stop. 2) be persistent. Sure, one day not to go workout is fine, but 1 week is definitely too long. 3) Manage. Yes, I understand we live in a real world, we got work and we have stress. But you know what, Yoga works great, for men too. Just give your body an hour, I promise you that you will feel so much better tomorrow morning. 4)Try to kill excuses. I don't want to say not making excuses. Everybody does. No matter how books tell you not to, believe me, you will. But what matters are how you deal with them. 5) Watch what you eat. If you are a starter, go easy on yourself, don't go crazy and say, I am going to finish a 5K run the first day. Be realistic. If anybody can do that, "the Biggest Loser" Show is on everyday in your local gym.

6) For girls. I see too many of them go to gym workout and then starve themselves. Don't do that! Your body needs energy for both growth and health. And muscle is not something make you fatter but just the opposite.
7) Balance your nutrition. Carbohydrate is not the devil, so is the chess you loved once in your frig, discipline yourself, and have it. If seriously you cannot control yourself once you start eating it, hey, you know, its only couple step to the toilet.

If there is anything I can do to help, I will, just let me know.
