Group Exercise classes at 24 Hour Fitness are the best
OK, this isn't one of those "I lost 100 pounds in 4 weeks!" stories.
I've actually never been obese in my life, always hovering between size 6 and 8, 140 pound-ish in all my 20's. I also never been an athelete. As a matter of fact, I really hated exercising. Every time I wanted to lose some weight, I'd always look for an easy way like pills or starvation. As you would've expected, my result from those gimmicks didn't last long. People and friends used to tell me how great I looked but it was never the way I felt. I suffered from chronic headaches every morning and I had this aches and pains all over my body, my mother used wonder "how can a young woman like you have all these aches and pains, you're like an old lady!"
I joined 24hourfitness on Memorial day of 2008 (they were running Memorial day special).
I wanted to express my deepest gratitute to group exercises classes at 24fitness for shaping me into the best shape of my life not to mention being rid of my ahces and pains! I realize now that all the aches were from being "inactive."
The first time I attending TKB(turbo kickboxing) at 24fitness Scottsdale Sport location, I thought I was going to die after the first 10 minutes. It was easily the most strenous physical activity I had to deal with in my life! There was NO WAY I was going to keep up with the instructor and those girls in the front. It was very discouraging.
From then on, I attended GX classes diligently, my pride wasn't going to let me go down like that. At first, it was mostly determination but eventually, going to exercise classes just became part of my routine. I also love interacting with other members in class. One thing I noticed after I became active is people who exercise regularly seemed happier and more positive.
Today, you can find me mostly in the front row of TKB or 24LIFT at 24fitness in Scottsdale locations. My fitness level? Well, before May of 2008, I couldn't even do one "knee" pushup. Now, I'm able do minimum of 20 regular pushups. I couldn't even walk my dog for half a mile wihtout catching my breath. Now, I go for a 4-mile run in under 30 minutes.
I will be 32 years old in April. I know it sounds cliche but I'm in better shape than when I was 22!
In my wildest dreams I would ever say this but here goes; "I"m in best shape of my life!"
What I learned from my "fitness journey" is that everyone has their inner athelete in them. You just gotta find that "thing" that motiviates you and keep on going. For me, it was the GX classes at 24fitness.
I feel confident, strong, and beatiful. Thanks to 24hourfitness and their group exercise classes mostly thanks to; Turbo Kickboxing, 24LIFT, and 24SET. I'm looking for career opportunities in fitness, that's how motivated I am! I think my fitness success is a good start :)
