lisa rogers
lisa beat her injuries and returned to tae kwon do.
Lisa Rogers was a fourth degree tae kwondo black belt with 15 years of experience when she ‘blew out’ the ACLs in both of her knees. That’s a major injury in any sport, and many people don’t recover fully, especially considering she was 50 years old at the time. “But,” she says, “I couldn’t imagine my life without Tae kwondo. So I started a weight loss program and put everything into my rehab and then into working out at 24 Hour Fitness.” As a result, she’s lost 50 pounds and returned to competition last year, placing in the top 10 in her division internationally. What would she tell other people about her experience? “A woman can do anything and achieve any goal she sets for herself. An active life doesn’t end at 50, and we can still set new goals for ourselves and achieve them.”
